Winners in our Community
2020 has been a year of uncertainty, fear, isolation and a particularly challenging year but Waterford volunteers have been outstanding, first to act on the ground and have gone well above and beyond their usual roles as volunteers and this was evident in the nominations received for this years PPN awards.
Waterford PPN Community & Voluntary Awards recognise the community organisations and volunteers that work tirelessly in their communities. For the past 15 years the awards were celebrated at a gala ceremony where over 200 people would attend including all nominated groups/volunteers. It is a lovely, vibrant and heart-warming event but sadly this year, due to COVID 19, the awards as we know them could not happen but the work did not go unrecognised.
With the support of Waterford City & County Council Waterford PPN Community & Voluntary Awards opened for nominations in November with an overwhelming 71 entries.
Thanks to all our adjudicators for the tough job they had. Donegal PPN, Kerry PPN, Kilkenny PPN, Laois PPN, Meath PPN, Offaly & Sligo PPN. The adjudicators were extremely impressed with the commitment and selfless dedication and remarked on how evident it was that the volunteers in Waterford are making a huge difference to the quality of lives in their local and wider communities particularly in this testing year.
Waterford PPN would like to thank ALL the volunteers in Waterford for your dedication and commitment you are all heroes of your communities……………
Category winners receive €800 & all runners up receive €300.
